DescriptionI designed this piece until 4:30AM after I had just seen Passion Pit and Michael (the lead singer) play in AZ a couple days ago for the first time ever since they only came to AZ once back in 2009 and I was not able to go to that show. It was my first time seeing them perform live and I can honestly say it was the best concert I had ever seen in my whole life. I chose to design to the song "It's Not My Fault, I'm Happy" because I believe it's one of the most personal, real, and honest songs on the album, and because it's one of my new favorite songs ever. I hope that by using the bright Gossamer color scheme with my illustration of Michael and his lyrics, that my design personifies his pleas of honesty straight to your heart. On another note, Michael has said in interviews regarding the lyrics to the song "Where We Belong", that when he attempted to commit suicide, that in his mind, the archangel Gabriel was present with him at the time, hence the line, “Do you believe in me too, Gabriel?” Well I don't know if he does, but this humble fan sure does. So this piece is dedicated to Michael Angelakos, for being one of my greatest inspirations and heroes. Thanks Michael, for doing all that you do, and more. |
