Football Team Logo Design Contest

Building A Sports Brand

This new arena league football team had a name, but not a logo. The Creative Allies community was tapped to design a logo for the High Country Grizzlies, a new addition to arena football.

The team was looking for an original illustration inspired by the sport of indoor football and the idea of having a team based in North Carolina. Designers had a BLANK SLATE! Creations came in that were modern, vintage, rustic, and even some with a futuristic style. There were no limits and designers were given free reign to go outside the box and create a truly unique design that represents the team, the game, and the High Country of Boone, NC.

The Grand Prize winner received cash of $1,000 and bragging rights for the design being used on all official fan gear. With multiple seasons under their belt, the Creative Allies designed logo has been used for uniforms, helmets, and fan gear sold online.

Sports Fan Engagement

In addition to creating the official logo for the team, by engaging with Creative Allies, the team was able to create a fan engagement campaign. For new or expansion teams, it’s critical to get fans on board and excited as early as possible. This design contest was an avenue to fans of the future team to have their voices heard about the look and style of the team’s uniforms. Fans are more engaged and want to show their team pride by purchasing merchandise when they were a part of the overall process and helping to brand the team. Creative Allies leveraged social media and the local fan base of the team to generate awareness and buzz, reaching over one hundred thousand impressions before the season began. In addition to a great cash prize, the winner received team swag and tickets to one of the home games.
